Seven accomplished guitarists, all deeply influenced by the late Jerry Reed, took turns paying tribute to the Georgia-born picker in a program held Saturday, May 5, in the Country Music Hall of Fame and Museum's Ford Theater. Reed, who died in 2008, would have been seventy-five on March 20 this year. John Knowles-like Reed a Chet Atkins-designated cgp (certified guitar player)-opened the concert, which was hosted by guitarist and Reed devotee Richard Smith. A jacket and guitar that belonged to Reed were placed stage left, in Reed's honor. "Some of the best times in my life were spent learning a new Jerry Reed tune," Knowles told the capacity audience.

The Country Music Hall of Fame ® and Museum celebrated Ford Community Day for the fifth consecutive year on Saturday, February 4. The record crowd of more than 5000 visitors enjoyed free museum admission, courtesy of Ford Motor Company Fund, as well as a performance and autograph signing from Hunter Hayes, an autograph signing with the Oak Ridge Boys, a Hatch Show Print demonstration and a Musical Petting Zoo.

To celebrate publication of the second edition of the Encyclopedia of Country Music, music executive Scott Borchetta sat down on January 21, 2012, for an interview with museum staffer Michael McCall. Borchetta is one of ninety-two new entries in the encyclopedia, compiled by the staff of the Country Music Hall of Fame and Museum and published by Oxford University Press. McCall served as an editor of the book, along with Paul Kingsbury and John W. Rumble.
